In our first 24 hours we managed to knock off 165 nautical miles. This included a coupe of Man Over Board practices (only practice), no fenders were lost during these exercises!

This was pretty good as we were going into the wind all day. We were sailing about 70 degrees off true wind (about 55 apparent). We ran with code zero and full main for as long as we could, going down to full main and jib overnight as the wind increased to 20 knots. The sea state is a little choppy with 2 meter swells. The boat and crew handled it well. We had to tack once to avoid a cargo ship (that was the only oher boat we saw). There were a few squalls, but they did not come after us.
The actual winds are much better than forecast and we have not had the engines on since we departed St Marten. This morning we are still under jib, pushing up wind right now on a direct course to Bermuda. At 50 degrees apparent we are a little slower, but on course.
"The girls" made a nice Tai curry for dinner and we all managed to get some sleep between watches.
The crew:

This is Diorbhail (a.k.a Damn-it, as in "How do you pronounce your name damn-it") at the helm. Note, clipped in with lifejacket on.

Come back later for a further update
