Azores > Portugal - Day 5: Sails up

The wind finally came in and has stayed with us today. They were fairly light to begi with at around 10-13 knots. This is enough to move us along at 6.5 knots, fastert han we achieve with one engine.

It is 9.00pm on 30th May, I'm starting my 9 -12 watch. Winds are now at 18 -20 knots, the swell has also built up. Our course to Lagos has us sailing closer to the wind and into the waves. This makes for a lively ride. But the boat and the crew are handling it well.

Taylor swift, passed away last night peacefully in her sleep. Gill and Diorbhail gave her a burial at sea this morning.
