We anchored off Poetto, a stretch of beach just outside Cagliari on the island of Sardinia. We will pick-up our crew, Gabriel and Leanne on Wednesday. They will sail with us to back to the Balearics.

Poetto offers a nice shelter from the northern winds. There are a number other boats here too. It is quite pretty with the backdrop of Sella del Diavolo, the "Devil’s Saddle," a mountain that juts out to sea.

There is not much in the immediate area, a busy beach (quieter now) and restaurants. But there is a marina where you can tie up your dinghy. But there is an Italian twist; they will not take garbage or recycling; they will not let you lock your dinghy!

There is a pretty good Spar grocer that is a short walk along the beach promenade, so we took our trusty four four wheel trolley and did the big shop.

You can also catch a bus into the city at this stop we have done a number of times (once we figured out the system. Google maps does a good job in finding the bus stops. You can download an app called CTM BusFinder on the App Store, purchase 90 minute tickets for 1.30 Euro, or buy theme at a store. In town there is a museum and a roman amphitheatre. There is also a nice fresh food market called Civic Market of San Benedetto. We plan to head to a Marina tomorrow as high winds are heading our way. This is from today in Olbia Sardinia, which is 16o miles up the coast. You might remember David was the skipper we hired when we first took the boat out of La Rochelle. Leanne and Gabe, you said you wanted a sailing adventure!
