We knocked of 180 miles in the last 24 hours, not bad as we could have done better if we still had a code zero.

Last night Seamus made pasta with Chorizo with garlic onions and carrots. Superb. I think the Chorizo might have been one that David and Rudy bought in Lad Palmas. It was well matured and delicious. Following that we watched a documentary on the five nations rugby tournament that Gill had downloaded. It just happened to be the episode where Scotland beat England at Twickenham, pure coincidence I'm sure!

Over the day the wind picked up and with it the swell. We hit a new top speed for the leg of 17.4 knots (32 km/hr). We are on a broad reach with one reef in the main and the jib. The boat is well balanced with this configuration.

Waves are about 3 metres, but are coming from behind, still provides aome pitch and roll to keep us on out toes.

We have been letting Otto do the steering as he is by far the best helmsman on the boat, but Seamus took a shift today.

7.20pm: Just finished our heart Chicken Soup (thanks again from all Cheryl), added some of our green bananas (I guess they are supposed to be green "cooking bananas") and they were a good addition. The wind has eased, but we will continue under reefed main and jib overnight. We have the gennaker on the trampoline ready to deploy if the true wind drops below 20 knots tomorrow. We can all sleep easier with the jib flying!

Starting to turn toward the Azores, only about 1300 nautical miles to go.
