Introducing DocBuddy: A Collaborative Nautitech Resource Library

Owning a boat means managing a multitude of systems, each often accompanied by a paper manual—if you're lucky. I found it frustrating to dig through boxes of manuals, so I started compiling a PDF library on Google Drive. However, this too was challenging, as some component manuals were hard to find.

For example, when the locking mechanism on my sliding doors broke, I couldn't locate the manual or even find the brand name on the door. I had to reach out to my broker (Yacht Sales West in Vancouver), who contacted Nautitech to supply the manual. I also encountered issues with Sailsense, a monitoring system on the boat, and received valuable assistance from Matt, their excellent support representative.

I believe many boat owners share these experiences and have likely accumulated manuals and resources that could benefit others. Every time I need to fix something, my first stop is YouTube. The challenge is sifting through multiple videos to find the one that helps. When I do find a helpful video, I save the link, and I'm sure many of you do the same.

To make life easier for all of us, I'd like to harness our collective knowledge to build a comprehensive library of documents for the systems found on Nautitech boats. For each system, we can include links to the most useful videos, making it easier to find the information we need without extensive searching.

I've named this project DocBuddy, and I have a very rough prototype here: DocBuddy Prototype.

Your feedback and contributions are welcome. Please feel free to share manuals, video links, or any suggestions to improve this resource. Together, we can create an invaluable tool for the Nautitech community.
