Rooftop Flexible Solar - Buyer beware?

We have eight Seatronic (rebranded Sunpower) flexible solar panels on our roof. I am seeing water getting under the protective film on covering the panels. While here in Las Palmas, Stephen from Athena dropped by our boat and noticed this on our boat and commented that he had already had his replaced twice under warranty for the same reason.
Currently it does not seem to be impacting performance, but if water can get in, so can grit and salt. I imagine it is also a pretty good environment for growing green slime!

Looking at the design it seems fairly obvious that this will happen as the protective plastic film goes to the edge of the panels, rather than folding around over the edge. So replacing them under warranty would likely only be a short term fix.
I'm looking into it myself, not sure if the film comes standard with the Sunpower panels, or if this film is something added by Seatronic for marine applications.
This seems like a common problem with this type of panel: https://todayshomeowner.com/.../flexible-solar-panel.../
