Safety Equipment on Board (and what to bring)

We have the following safety equipment on board:

  1. 4 Lifejackets - self inflating

  2. 4 Lanyards for the lifejackets

  3. Life lines on each side of the boat to "clip-in" when going forward

  4. B&G Chart plotter with AIS

  5. Back-up B&G charts on iPhone

  6. VHF Radio

  7. A RescueMe EPIRB (will add a second before the ARC

  8. Two RescueMe MoB devices (sends alarm and position to our boat)

  9. A hand held VHF with AIS

  10. Compass

  11. Starlink satellite communication

  12. A "Jon Buoy' Mob recovery device (hydrostatic release)

  13. Two MoB slings (one on each side)

  14. Binoculars with compass

  15. An eight person life raft

  16. A grab bag for the life raft with food water and other provisions

  17. Flares

  18. Two signalling horns

  19. Two powerful flashlights

  20. Three headlamps (red/white lights)

  21. Four fire extinguishers

  22. First aid kit

  23. Basic drugs

    1. Broad spectrum antibiotic

    2. Tylanol

    3. Asprin

    4. Alergy tablets

    5. Sea sickness pills

    6. an epipen


What do you need to bring

  1. Pack in a duffel bag as it can be easily stored on board

  2. White soled shoes for on board use only (do not have to be fancy!)

  3. Clothes consistent with the season. Only bring a small set EG three T-shirts as we will typically do a washing machine run every day.

  4. Rain gear consistent with the season

  5. Any prescription medication you need

  6. Sea sickness pills or patches, whatever works for you (test for side effects before you leave.

  7. Glasses - prescription, reading, sunglasses

  8. Sunscreen

  9. Water bottle

  10. Dry bag

  11. Sun hat

  12. Sailing gloves

  13. Phone/iPad/Computer

  14. Personal EPIRB/Garman Inreach (if you have one)

  15. Lifejacket MOB strobe light

  16. Headlamp (Rechargeable, waterproof, red/white light)

  17. Waterproof case/pouch for phone
